For LCC12, we are excited to invite all registered in-person attendees to view not one, but two films featuring conlangs: One is the Indian film Bokshi (2025), featuring the Boksirit language by Jan van Steenbergen, having been described as “an eco-feminist coming-of-age drama set in the mystical wilderness of Northeast India”; another is the Danish Fremmed (2025) (‘stranger’), a violent culture clash drama set in the beginning of the Scandinavian Neolithic, featuring two languages created by historical linguist Tobias Mosbæk Søborg.
Following the screening of Bokshi on Friday the 10th we will be having the conference dinner at Bryggens Spisehus. If you would like to attend the conference dinner, make sure to sign up for it in the registration form. The deadline for signing up for the conference dinner is June 25th.
