JOB: LCC video editor
The LCS Podcast and Language Creation Conference need video editors to transform raw video rips and audio from LCC3 into well-cut, polished final products.
Raw audio is provided as mp3 or m4a format audio. Video is provided as actual MiniDV tapes. Slides are provided as PDF, PPT, ODP, and/or Keynote files.
What you'll need to do is:
- rip the tapes (some of which have issues requiring some manual adjusting, and four of which require an HD camera to rip)
- remove clips that are distractingly irrelevant (e.g. setting up) and subtitle those that are inaudible (e.g. audience questions that weren't voiced into a mic)
- intercut slides, or have a side-by-side view of speaker and slides
- add an intro sequence with logos, speaker photo, talk title, etc
- decide which audio source(s) to use based on quality - there are three: the mixer, the main camera, and the secondary (audience) camera
- run audio & video through filters if needed to improve quality
- export to DVD, Google Video, and web compatible formats
We can provide rips of the non-HD tapes, but they're quite large (22 files, 166GB) and have audio/video sync issues that will need correction; you may have better luck ripping them yourself.
See this post as an example of a final edit from LCC2.
If you can do this, please contact us at , with your relevant experience and desired price per hour of tape.
Thanks!
